Beauty of a Different Mind

This project, was based around the seven different 'genres' that categories mental health. The different colours of the dust surrounding the flowers are to represented those catagories .

I read that the term 'chemical imbalance' was just a phrase used to help others to understand the brain, which is why doctors would say this to people. It it nothing to be afraid of if you fall in to any one of the seven categories. (Although in this case, I have chosen only 5 categories)

Over the years, I notices that side of Anxiety and Depression amongst the public has grown, and progressively. for those who suffer, they want other to understand what everyday life is like for them. But, I have also see that for those who do not suffer with any type of mental disorder, they tend to look the other way for reasons that are countless and in my opinion undesirable.

The dust around the flowers are to represent the "chemical imbalance" of the brain for their respective categories.

Why Flowers? If we talk about Schizophrenia, many would consider people of that diagnosis to be, dangerous, a monster. Unfortunately that is the thought that "normal" people have in society.

I say no. Not dangerous, gifted. People with any diagnostic of any mental disorder do struggle, but I have noticed that they are also some of the more most creative and realist. They see things in a way that the average person would see as unorthodox, and the usual response to is become afraid of the things that we "normal" people don't understand.

How about we take a step back and actually become understanding of the personal mental functionality, not as a spectator, they are not zoo animals, but out of kindness and interest. They are people, not a monster. They experience life the same way that we do, just from a more colourful perception.

"Normal"..... there is no such thing!
